Design leader based in Nashville, TN with 10+ years of experience in designing healthcare products that make care more human-centered.

O
OVER THE LAST DECADE, I’ve been focused on designing products and experiences centered on care—supporting not only those who provide it, but also those who depend on it.
Whether it’s nurses, clinicians, educators, or the people they serve, I’ve been fortunate to work and collaborate closely with people at the heart of care. These experiences have not only shaped my perspective as a designer, but have given me clarity into why I design.
For me, I believe design has the power to better our world—as long as that power is wielded wisely. I recognize that I have both a responsibility and an opportunity as a designer to minimize harm, promote safety, and advocate for solutions that truly serve people’s needs. It’s why I’ve made an intentional choice to work for mission-driven companies that put people at the center of what they do and work hard to make their lives better.
Currently, I'm a staff product designer at Modern Health, helping to shape the future of mental healthcare. I work on a small but mighty design team to help people get the support they need for their well-being.

My design story
I come from a small town in Indiana. By small town, I mean the kind where the only thing to do is drive through the countryside and count cornfields. To keep myself entertained during weekends and summers, I taught myself basic HTML/CSS and started building websites as a hobby.
It wasn't until high school that I realized that I continue doing this and actually make a living from it. So, I dropped my plans to pursue journalism and decided to attend Indiana Tech to study web development. A year after graduating, I moved to Nashville, Tennessee to start my first UX design job. 10+ years later, I’ve had the opportunity to refine my craft through a range of design roles spanning consumer and enterprise products in education, healthcare, and mental health.
I'm currently a staff product designer at Modern Health, where I lead strategic design initiatives that shape how members access and engage with therapy, coaching, and other modalities of care. Since joining, I've helped to expand, improve, and differentiate our care offerings by taking multiple products from concept to launch, including Pathways, Family Care, and Benefits Navigation. I'm excited to share what's cooking up next!
As a designer, I find myself most energized when I can turn complexity into clarity. I love untangling mess and making it make sense for others. For me, I'm at my best when I can put on my systems-thinking hat to connect the dots between product, people, and process. When I can paint the end-to-end picture for my team, this creates space for hard questions like, Who is this hurting? Who is this is helping? How can we make this better for everyone? To me, this is how you design with heart and take a product from good to great.
When I'm not designing, you can find me curled up with a book in my home library, taking care of my indoor plants, or hanging out with my husband and our two miniature dachshunds, Susie and Sam.
